This 150-room select-service room hotel's energy costs increased 20% between 2018 and 2019 and had highest energy costs per available room in owner portfolio. In addition the brand requires hotels to reduce carbon footprint by 25%.

To replace energy sources, a Capstone C65 Microturbine with Combined Heating & Power (CHP) was installed and commissioned.
The hotel is expected to reduce energy costs by over 68% and carbon emissions by almost half.

Cash flows from energy savings over an eleven-year holding period and the increase of real estate value at the end of the holding period yield a Net Present Value of US$2.86 million and Internal Rate of Return of 53.8%.

The 475-room full service, flagged hotel's energy costs increased US$62k between 2017 and 2019, exceeding budget and industry benchmark.

Solutions include a Capstone C1000 Microturbine with Combined Heat & Power (CHP), window treatments, outdoor lighting. Level 3 EV Charging Stations and a Solar Carport.

Between Energy Reduction and Replacement, energy costs are reduced from US$575k to US$69k. The solar carport produces energy, and allows the hotel to offer fee-based "premium parking" to guests, generating US$530k in the first year alone.
